You Can Find Champorado Cookies In This Poblacion Café!
Pair it with milk!
Poblacion is known for its nightlife with its bars serving craft beers and establishments that you won't find inside Metro Manila's malls. What a lot of people don't know is that Poblacion is also a great place for coffee runs, a hearty breakfast (or brunch!), and even merienda.
In the corner where Matilde and General Luna streets meet, you can find Tilde, a quiet spot that serves delicious food. Tilde, named after the street and the accent placed over Spanish n, is a space that offers a variety of all-day dishes, desserts (their best-selling carrot cheesecake is definitely a must-try!), coffee, and tea. Tilde has a dedicated wall for their bottled goods and other delicacies. There are jams, freshly-baked bread, and a "Heat & Eat" section with frozen cooked food, coffee grounds, dips, and a variety of unique cookies.
If you love champorado as much as the next person, then you definitely have to try Tilde's Champorado Cookies (P250/tub; P350/sugar-free). These small cookies are made with dark chocolate, each piece a perfect balance of sweet and bitter flavors. Tilde's Champorado Cookies are dotted with rice crisps and cacao nibs for an added crunch. According to Ginny Roces-De Guzman, the mastermind behind Tilde (and founder of Sugarhouse), they source their cacao nibs from different local chocolatiers like Auro, Tigre Y Olivia, and Malagos Chocolate.
Tilde's Champorado Cookies are quite the addicting treat when you eat it on its own-but this is best paired it with a glass of milk or a café latte.
Tilde is located at 5417 Matilde, Poblacion, Makati.
