Germany Will Hold Its First-Ever "Ube Fiesta"
Ube has become even more popular worldwide!
Germany is set to have their first-ever "Ube Fiesta" in Sankt Augustin town on June 4. The Philippine consulate in Frankfurt, Germany organized this event in cooperation with the Filipino Mission in the Archdiocese of Cologne to highlight the versatility of ube.
On the official Ube Fiesta website, it says, "The campaign/festival aims to highlight the characteristics of ube that coincides with German sustainability, culinary and social responsibility values through the showcase of special dishes and beverages which make use of ube as an ingredient."
For those attending the Ube Fiesta (which is FREE admission, by the way!) you will get to meet food vendors, bakers, and different enthusiasts in Germany, and have a taste of their ube creations.
Not only will there be ube-fied food and drinks to excite your sense of taste, but there's also going to be cultural performances, a film showing, and even an "Art of Ube Exhibit" to excite your other senses too.
You can look forward to seeing Mark Darrell Manalo's acrylic piece "Anihan" in person during the exhibit:
The Ube Fiesta is scheduled this June 4, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This event will take place at the Steylre Missionare, Sankt Augustin.
