Who Says Vegans Can't Have A Slice Of Lechon, Too?

Veganism is a lot easier with all the emerging plant-based meat options.

If you're a Pinoy vegan, one of the hardest meat products to give up is the delicious lechon, especially if it has that oh so juicy meat and golden brown crunchy skin. But all hope is not lost with Vellychon Haus' plant-based lechon. This trendy faux lechon is vegan-friendly because it's only made of corn, wheat, soybeans, cassava, water, atsuete, salt, sugar, black pepper, garlic, lemongrass, and red food coloring. According to their official Facebook page, the "vellychon" is even halal-friendly and FDA-approved.

Summit Media Publishing got to interview Chef Elpi, the owner of Vellychon Haus, and he shared with us how he got into the plant-based diet and how he eventually put up the Vellychon Haus after the several obstacles he had to go through. Check it out:
