PSA: You Can Now Find The Famous Vizco's Strawberry Shortcake In Manila!
Vizco's famous Strawberry Shortcake will always be on the list of Baguio favorites. But if you don't have the time to take a trip up to the summer capital of the Philippines, you can have a quick fix at Cafe Amazon in Venice Piazza, McKinley in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.Â
In a phone interview with Arnel Argueza of Cafe Amazon, he says that the Vizco's Strawberry Shortcake is not a permanent item on the menu. He also mentioned that the branch owner is a resident from Baguio who brings back a box or two of Vizco's Strawberry Shortcake and sells it in the store. This means that there are days that the cake is not available, so it would be best to call the branch beforehand to assure they have it on stock.
Having Vizco's strawberry shortcake within the metro is very convenient, but we still highly recommend sourcing the cake from Baguio because this ensures that the strawberries are at its best, freshest quality. The shelf life of Vizco's Strawberry Shortcake only lasts until two days, in a freezer at all times.
In a phone interview with Jackie Vizcocho Dizon, the owner of Vizco's, she says, "Wala kaming official na distributor in Manila (We don't officially have distributors here in Manila)." She adds, "Hindi naman kami nagbabawal [mag-resell], pero wala kaming ine-endorse. (We don't prohibit reselling, but we don't endorse it.)"
