You’ve probably heard of the Asian-magical-healthy-probiotic-brewed-tea concoction called kombucha (pronounced kom-boo-cha) by now.

Kombucha is made from a mix of tea (usually black or white) and sugar, fermented by a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast (otherwise known as SCOBY). Yeast and bacteria ferment into acids that help the body naturally detoxify, aid in digestion, and support your immune system.

 

Local Pinoy 'booch brewers, Starr's Brew, make organic kombucha in fun, crazy, but delicious flavors: their Gin Tum (ginger + turmeric) is a local favorite, and their Tsokolate (chocolate) and Tulsi (basil) flavors are also worthy tenants of your refrigerator shelves. They come in two sizes: sealed single-serving bottles, and larger resealable bottles for sharing.
