The next time you're strolling around an SM Mall, the sound of drums might just lead you to rows and rows of stalls with every food-loving Pinoy's fave: street fare. Yup, the Street Food Festival held by the SM Hypermarket is back and ready to serve your cravings with a vengeance. The festival kicked off at the Mall of Asia Music Hall on Monday, August 29. In attendance were celebrity chefs, social media personalities, and yup, a six-foot veggie lumpia. Because why the heck not?

When and where to catch the SM Hypermarket Street Food Festival

Apart from the turon, everyone knows the crowd-fave budget deal that is the SM Hypermarket's veggie lumpia so it was only fitting that a massive version created by Chef Boy Logro be the star of the show. The Kusina Master and team cooked up a giant lumpia with hundreds of normal-sized ones inside. This massive creation will be shared by the children of Nayon ng Kabataan, a temporary home run by the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Mandaluyong, said SM in a statement.

The festival is where you can grab grub of all kinds to satisfy your varied street food cravings. We checked out the Mall of Asia (MOA) opening and snacked on fried goodies, kakanin, and even Korean and Western fare like bibimbap and burgers. You can also visit game booths and, of course, take tons of selfies.

And because this is SM Hypermarket, you can catch free tastes and sulit deals to fill up your pantries. Brands like Nestle, Knorr, Purefoods, Alaska, CDO, Lucky Me, Bounty Fresh, and more had spots at the MOA run.

The festival will make its rounds after MOA at the SM Hypermarket Fairview from September 16 to 18, and the SM Clark Skyline from September 30 to October 2. You can also cop the deals and promos online on
