A Yakult Ice-Cream Pop-Up Is Opening In Japan
We're wishing we'll have this here, too.
It may be best known as a probiotic drink, but let's face it: Most of us drink Yakult for its sweet and tangy flavor. It works wonders in other desserts, too, as we've seen everything from Yakult-flavored cheesecake, tea drinks, and more. And in particular, it works beautifully as an ice-cream flavor. Over in the Land of the Rising Sun, one dessert shop is taking the idea further: Shibuya establishment Imada Kitchen is opening a pop-up dubbed the Yakult no aisu mise san, or Yakult Ice Cream Shop!
Here's what you need to know about Yakult Ice Cream Shop by Imada Kitchen:
The pop-up will be open from June 1 to August 1, and features limited-edition Yakult frozen desserts that will totally make you drool. They've got the basics like the Ice de Yakult Ice Cream (450 yen, roughly P199.01), Ice de Yakult Sherbet (450 yen, roughly P199.01), Ice de Yakult Shake (500 yen, roughly P221.13), and Yakult Soft Cream a.k.a. soft-serve (450 yen, roughly P199.01).
Perhaps the most IG-worthy of the lot is the layered Yakult Parfait (600 yen, roughly 265.35), which comes in Caramel and Berry flavors! All desserts also come with a biscuit shaped like a Yakult bottle.
Aside from the above desserts that are available at the pop-up, there's also the Ice de Yakult ice-cream cup (200 yen, roughly P88.43), which you can take home and store in your freezer for when the cravings hit. This will be sold in limited quantities at selected Tokyu Store branches from June 1 onwards. (We seriously wish we could hop on a plane to Japan now, too.)
