Zeus Collins Turns P50K Savings Into Food Business With 43 Branches
Hashtags member Zeus Collins is grateful because of the success of his food businesses that he opened with his fiancée, Pauline Redondo. The couple has two Japanese food kiosks that are open for franchising.
It was last April 2021 when Zeus and Pauline first opened Ta Ramen Na. Three months after its opening, they put up their second food business called Le Katsu MNL.Â
Their food businesses are doing so well, they opened an additional two branches, now totaling 43. Zeus and Pauline are focused on continuing the upward trajectory of their food businesses.
The Motivation To Start A Food Business
According to Zeus in an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), one of the reasons why he thought of opening a food business was the pandemic. He says, "Naubos ang savings ko, kabado na kasi nga nag-pandemic akala natin saglit lang then naubos ang savings ko.
"Parang mga fifty thousand [pesos] na lang, siyempre mayroon tayong pamilya, nandiyan yung mama ko, mga kapatid ko na umaasa sa akin.
"Sabi ko di ito puwede maubos ng ganito lang, kailangang makaisip ng paraan kasi walang show."
The Idea Behind Ta Ramen Na and Le Katsu MNL
He says that his long-time partner, Pauline, was the one who thought of and motivated him to start a food business. He says, "Hanggang yung girlfriend ko, 'Mag-business na lang tayo.' Sabi ko, 'Anong business? Wala akong alam sa business.'
"Nag-suggest siya kaya hayun nagtuloy-tuloy."
"Naisip namin yung mga business namin na Le Katsu, mga katsu, mga Japanese food, at mayroon na kaming forty-one business at kaka-isang taon pa lang namin.
"Sobrang blessed ako nun kaya ito ang pinagkakaabalahan ko."
Zeus describes their business set-up for those who want to franchise, "Kiosk, depende sa mga nagpa-franchise sa amin kung gusto nila ng mini-restaurant, pero kami nag-start kami sa kiosk lang. As in sa labas lang."
Showbiz Pa RinÂ
Despite the success of the couple's food businesses, Zeus did not fully turn his back on his showbiz career.Â
Zeus said, "Yung sa business kaya medyo dun ako naka-focus ngayon kasi nga nag-pandemic, walang trabaho, nagsarado pa ang ABS-CBN kaya nag-isip ako ng puwede pang pagkakitaan.
"Hanggang kaya pa, kaya ko pang sumayaw, may mga projects pa naman di ako titigil.
"Lagi kong pinagpapasalamat na nakapasok ako sa showbiz, di ko naman dati naiisip yun.
"Saka di ako yung basta-basta na susuko na ayoko nang mag-showbiz, hindi, tutuloy-tuloy pa rin. Basta may offer bakit hindi? Talagang tatanggapin ko iyan."
