Ingredients
Sotanghon Guisado with Sesame Seeds
- 200 Grams pork sliced into thin strips
- 200 Grams Shrimp peeled and sliced
- 3 cups shrimp stock
- 1 medium carrot peeled and chopped
- 1 Small Chinese cabbage (Baguio pechay) sliced
- 400 Grams Chinese vermicelli (sotanghon)
- 4 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 big onion chopped roughly
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
- Salt
- vegetable oil for sauteeing
- sesame seeds roasted
- water
- 7 pcs long beans (sitaw) sliced diagonally
Instructions
- First, marinade the sotanghon noodles in water for just a few minutes to soften. In a heated large cooking pan, put the oil. Add the onion and garlic. Saute for few minutes.
- Add the sliced pork belly. Continue sauteeing until it becomes brown. Put the shrimps, hoisin sauce and soy sauce. Just continue the saute process for about 2-3 minutes and cover.
- Pour the shrimp stock and water and bring to a boil. When it is boiling, drop the sotanghon noodles and let simmer until it becomes transparent or slightly cook.
- Season with salt and pepper. Add the vegetables. Cover. Let cook for a couple of minutes. Leave a little bit of juice so it won t get dry.
- Sprinkle a little of vegetable oil to make it shiny. Toss gently. Transfer immediately to a serving plate.
- Garnish with sesame seeds on top. Serve and eat right away. Enjoy!
