The air fryer can cook many things, including a delicious and moist cake!

What Is Air Fryer Fudge Chocolate Cake

This fudge chocolate cake recipe is perfect for the air fryer. It's a soft and moist chocolate cake recipe that is easy to make. Plus, this makes its own simple fudge sauce with a little extra effort. This kind of cake recipe is also known as a hot fudge pudding cake because the best part is that it comes with its own chocolate sauce or fudge sauce made in the same pan.

Another great thing about this cake recipe is that it is an eggless cake recipe! To make up for that missing egg, we use extra butter and all-purpose cream to ensure it is moist and tasty plus both kinds of leaveners to ensure it rises as it should.

The air fryer fudge cake is easy to make as well as serve! Since this cake has a fudge sauce made right in the cake pan, it's best to serve it as is. However, if you're planning on serving it in another container, such as a plate or platter, you can flip this over and unmold it that way, too. Just scrape out all that fudge sauce (or make more!) so everyone gets a little of that simple sauce with their cake.

This chocolate cake is really at its best when served while warm so there's no reason to wait to satisfy your chocolate cake craving.

How To Make Air Fryer Fudge Chocolate Cake

The air fryer fudge chocolate cake starts by combining the melted butter, all-purpose cream, and water in a jug and is set aside. The dry ingredients are whisked together in a large bowl to mix before the wet ingredients are added. Transfer this batter to a small cake pan that fits in your air fryer basket. Top this off with a chocolate sugar mixture and pour over the hot water. Don't mix! This creates the fudge sauce that will settle in the bottom of the cake.

Tips To Make Great Air Fryer Fudge Chocolate Cake

Baking in an air fryer might seem foolproof but we have tips to ensure that nothing goes wrong:

1 You can preheat your air fryer for more even "air" baking.

The air fryer is basically a convection oven and so, bakes faster. However, the air fryer only has a heating element on top so the bottom part of your air fryer basket may take longer to heat up to bake evenly. You can solve this by simply preheating your air fryer for about 3 minutes at the temperature listed in the recipe. Then when ready, place your cake pan in and "air bake" as normal.

2 Use a whisk!

If you're not a fan of sifting powdery flour and other dry ingredients, you can skip it... provided you use a whisk to break up lumps in the dry ingredients using a whisk. Then just make a well in the center and pour in your wet ingredients and whisk again to combine. Easy!

3 Use hot water.

The hot water jump starts the sauce-building process since it not only ensures the chocolate sugar becomes a sauce, but it also keeps your chocolate cake from becoming dry in the air-heated compartment that is your air fryer basket.

4 You can frost it, too.

We know this is different from other cakes but if you are not that sure that the "fudge" sauce that automatically forms at the bottom of this cake is enough for you, you can top it off with a simple chocolate ganache frosting.

How To Store Air Fryer Fudge Chocolate Cake

We're not sure why you would need to store this cake but if you do need to, storing this chocolate cake is simple and easy: just cover the cake pan with plastic wrap or foil and place it in the refrigerator. This is important for this cake since the cake contains a dairy: all-purpose cream.

When ready to eat it again, cover it with foil to protect the fudge from scorching while in the appliance. Reheat for about 5 minutes in the air fryer at 160 degrees C or until the cake is just warmed through.
