One forkful of this creamy salmon dish might have been enough to make you fall in love with this meaty fish. Salmon when baked is one of those dishes that look and sound intimidating but the reality is that a creamy and cheese baked salmon dish like the one you can order from Conti's is an easy recipe to make.

What is Baked Salmon ala Conti's

You are probably familiar with the now famous Baked Salmon of Conti's. If you wanted to impress your guests (or your host!), this dish did the trick. It's a dish that has a creamy and cheesy topping hiding a perfectly cooked salmon fillet underneath. It was an instant hit when it was first introduced to the market and has since then become a party staple for many gatherings.

Most baked fish dishes like this creamy salmon dish is actually a simple dish that can you can recreate at home with a few key ingredients that were not as available before but is now. Since salmon became more accessible to the general market (It's now as available in some select palengkes as it is at your local major supermarkets and specialized fishmongers.) it's easier to save and make it.

How To Serve Baked Salmon ala Conti's

The original baked salmon dish was served party style with buttered sweet kernel corn and green peas on the side. You can of course hack the veggies and use a mixed bag of frozen vegetables that also include cubed carrots with the corn and pea mix.

Not a fan of the green peas? Sub it out and just make buttered corn if that's what you prefer.

It all starts with a fresh salmon fillet. You'll need to prepare this and remove the pin bones with tweezers so that these are truly boneless. This prep is probably the most difficult part of the recipe.

Once the salmon is prepped, you can then make the cheesy sauce that will be poured over the salmon. These will bake together to make a truly creamy and flaky baked salmon dish!

Tips To Make Delicious Baked Salmon ala Conti's

An easy recipe such as this baked salmon ala Conti's needs no tips to make it perfect but there are a few things to remember so you end up with a dish that will impress anyone who tastes it:

  • • Hunt down and choose the best salmon fillet for this recipe since its the star ingredient.
  • • Use lemon juice or even calamansi juice to remove any fishy taste that your salmon may have.
  • • Season the salmon lightly with salt and pepper even before it's covered with the cheese sauce to ensure the salmon is delicious no matter what.
  • • Don't be afraid to undercook the salmon (and don't overbake!) since the residual heat can be enough to keep cooking the salmon once removed from the oven. You still want flakey salmon, not dried out chunks.
  • • Prepare and make this on the day you will serve it for best results. Since the salmon takes less than an hour to make, you'll want to serve it as soon as it comes out of the oven for everyone to enjoy.

How To Store Baked Salmon ala Conti's

We're not sure if you will have any leftover baked salmon when this is presented to guests but just in case you make more than you and your guests can eat in one sitting, the baked salmon is best wrapped up or transfered to a container. Store this in the refrigerator and consume within 3 days for best results. It's still fish so it's best that this isn't kept for a long period of time, stored properly or otherwise.

However, if you do need to store it for longer than 2 days, freeze it wrapped well until ready to thaw and serve again.
