Ingredients

  • 1 Table Spoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 Cup lemon-lime soda
  • 2 teaspoons Calamansi Juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/8 black pepper
  • 3 pieces boneless bangus (milkfish)
  • 1/2 Cup banana ketchup
  • 1 Table Spoon Oil
  • Oil

Instructions

  • Make the Marinade: Mix the brown sugar, soda, calamansi juice, turmeric, salt, and ground black pepper in a bowl. Pour over boneless bangus, and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  • Heat 1?4 cup oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Drain marinade from bangus, slather on ketchup and oil on both sides, and place skin-side down into the hot oil. Fry until crispy, flip and cook the other side. Remove from heat and serve with steamed rice. Alternatively, fry fish first and then slather on ketchup mixture to avoid oil splatters.
