Bread is just as common a breakfast item as rice is in Asia. Where rice is commonly your savory breakfast fare, bread is more versatile. It can be savory or sweet, and that would depend largely on the filling or palaman that you have in mind to stuff it with.

The most basic bread dough is a classic one made of the standard flour, water, salt, and yeast mix. Did you know though that there are different kinds of dough that can be made into your pandesal, pan de coco, or even your ensaymada that uses another kind of bread dough?

It's called sweet dough.

What is sweet dough?

Sweet dough is similar to regular bread dough that you might use for bread and rolls but the big difference here is that it's a kind of enriched dough. While basic bread dough can be as simple as flour, water, a little sugar, salt, and yeast, an enriched dough like sweet dough includes butter, eggs, and of course, sugar which makes it perfect for bread recipes that will be turned into dessert bread.
