
Lumpia recipes are usually made of pork, but here’s an easy and delicious tweak: turn your favorite pork lumpia recipe into delicious beef lumpia! Aside from swapping out the pork for the beef, the cooking method is just the same. These beef lumpia will be just as meaty and flavorful as your usual pork lumpiang Shanghai, and can become one of your favorite ulam recipes to make!

Ingredients
Beef Lumpia Ingredients
- 1/2 kilogram Ground beef
- 1/2 Small white onion minced
- 3 cloves Garlic minced
- 1/2 Cup carrots minced
- 1/2 Cup spring onion sliced thinly
- 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon Salt or to taste
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper or to taste
- 30 pieces Lumpia wrappers
- water for sealing the wraper
- Oil for frying
- Sweet chili sauce for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the beef, onion, garlic, carrot, spring onion, and oyster sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour to overnight. (Cook a little ball to test for seasoning.)
- To make the lumpia: place about 1 tablespoon of the filling on the bottom part of the lumpia wrapper, leaving about 2 inches of space. Fold over the filling and then fold in the edges, creating an envelope-like shape. Roll and seal wrappers with water.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry lumpia for about 3 minutes each side or until golden brown. Drain excess oil on paper towels. Serve with sweet chili sauce or sauce of your choice.
