Beef Steaks in White Pepper Gravy Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup Butter divided
  • 1/2 kilo Beef use beef steak cut
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 Table Spoon Flour
  • 1/4 Cup beef stock
  • 1 Cup milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt
  • Oil for sauteing

Instructions

  • In a large nonstick frying pan over high heat, pour in about a tablespoon of oil and heat until almost smoking. Add a little butter and once melted, add a beef steak. Sear for about 3 seconds and flip. Sear again for about 3 seconds, and immediately remove the pan from the heat. Transfer the beef to a plate, and set aside. Repeat for the remaining steaks, adding more oil and butter when necessary.
  • Lower heat to medium. Melt about 1 tablespoon butter in the pan. Add in cracked black pepper, and quickly sauté until fragrant. Sprinkle in flour, and cook until the flour is cooked, stirring occasionally.
  • With a wire whisk, whisk in beef stock and milk, and cook until thickened. Pour in any juices from the cooked beef into the gravy, too. Season with nutmeg, and salt and ground black pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
  • Cut steaks into serving pieces. Place on top of steamed rice with gravy poured over, and serve.
