Ingredients
  

Beef Stew

  • 1 kilo beef cubes
  • 3/4 Cup Japanese soy sauce
  • 3/4 Cup mirin (japanese sweet rice wine)
  • 1/3 Cup sugar
  • 2 pieces beef bouillon cubes
  • 2 liters water
  • 1 piece red onion quartered
  • 1 piece red bell pepper sliced into strips
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • roasted sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  •  Combine beef, soy sauce, mirin, sugar, bouillon cubes, and water in a pot to a rolling boil.
     
  • Once boiling, lower heat and simmer until beef is tender, about 60 to 80 minutes.
     
  • When beef is tender and cooking is almost done, add onions, bell peppers, and sesame oil. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with sesame seeds, if desired.
