Bread Pudding Ingredients

  • 1 Cup non-fat milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 Cup muscovado sugar more for topping
  • 8 slices whole-wheat bread
  • 1/2 Cup raisins
  • 2 pieces Egg whites only
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil more for greasing baking dish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease a small rectangular baking dish with a little vegetable oil. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, mix milk, cinnamon, and sugar and stir until sugar dissolves. Tear the bread into small chunks and soak in the milk for 20 minutes.
  • Stir in raisins, egg whites, and oil. Transfer to the prepared pan. Sprinkle with more sugar on top and bake until firm and browned on top, about 20 minutes. Remove from oven. Let cool before cutting into squares and serve drizzled with cream sweetened with sugar, if desired.
