Ingredients
Chicken Asado
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 4 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 medium onion diced
- 1 kilo Chicken use bone-in chicken thighs
- 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce
- 1 200-gram pack Tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 4 pieces star anise
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Heat the cooking oil in a cooking pot. Saute garlic and onion until browned.
- Add the chicken thighs and cook until browned.
- Pour the soy sauce and tomato sauce, while stirring constantly. Add the 5-spice powder, star anise, and sugar.
- Add 1 to 2 cups of water and let it boil over low heat for about 30 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
- Season with salt and ground black pepper. Serve with warm rice. TIP: Do you have a lot of packets of ketchup from fastfood take-outs? You can use this to replace the tomato sauce in this recipe.
