Chocolate Sheet Cake Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Butter softened
- 1/4 Cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 1/4 Cup all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 1/4 Cup chocolate powder or Milo powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 Cup fresh milk
- Butter for greasing
- 1/2 Cup Butter
- 1/2 Cup cream cheese
- 1 Cup Powdered SUgar sifted
- 2 tablespoons fresh milk
- 2 tablespoons chocolate powder or Milo powder
Instructions
- Preaheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 13x9-inch non-stick baking pan. Set aside.
- Cream butter and sugar until light. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until well incorporated.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, Milo powder, and salt in a bowl. Add half the mixture to the egg mixture. Fold in with a spatula until mixed in. Pour in milk, and stir to mix. Dump remaining flour mixture into batter; mix until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the middle of the cake springs back when lightly pressed. Remove from oven, and let cool completely.
- Meanwhile, make frosting: whisk butter and cream cheese until light. Whisk in half the powdered sugar. Stir in milk. Add remaining powdered sugar, and stir to mix.
- Spoon over cooled sheet cake. Sprinkle with Milo powder. Slice and serve. Recipe orginally published in the January-Februrary 2016 issue of Good Housekeeping Philippines.
