Creamy Bacon Mac and Cheese Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 Cup milk
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 Cup plain yogurt
- 1/2 Cup cheddar cheese grated, plus extra for topping
- 400 Grams elbow macaroni cooked according to package directions
- 200 Grams bacon Diced and fried until crispy, divided
- parsley Chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Make the cheese sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan. Whisk in flour and cook butter until the mixture turns light brown, forming a roux. Slowly add milk and continue mixing until the roux is thick but smooth. The sauce will thicken slightly. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add yogurt, then add cheese. Mix until completely smooth and cheese has melted.
- Fold in macaroni. Add half of the bacon; mix well. Sprinkle remaining bacon and more cheese on top.
- Transfer mixture to an 8x8-inch baking dish. Bake in a 350°F oven for 20 minutes or until top is golden brown.
