This local candy called yema is a delicious snack to satisfy your sweet tooth!

What is yema?

Yema is a candy mixture that is made with milk, sugar, and egg yolks. It can be made simpler by using canned sweetened condensed milk and egg yolks. You'll also need a little butter because butter makes anything taste better, especially sweets and desserts like this!

The mixture is casually heated up and when thickened enough, cooled until you're able to handle the softened candy and form them into balls (or cones if that's what you want!) You can even just heat it up until the egg yolks are safe to eat and use it as a spread or even a cake frosting. How yummy does that sound?

Ready to give it a try? Here's the step-by-step instructional video so you won't miss a step!
