Focaccia Bread Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water microwaved around 23 seconds
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Instant yeast or active dry yeast
  • 1/4 Cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour or bread flour
  • 5 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste


  • Mix the water, granulated sugar, yeast, extra virgin olive oil, salt, and flour together in a bowl to form the dough. Knead the dough.
  • In a separate bowl greased with oil, place the dough and set it aside to rise. This will take about 2 1/2 hours.
  • Once dough is ready, you may transfer and flatten it out onto a baking pan. Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for 3 hours.
  • After 3 hours, preheat oven to 450 degrees F or 230 degrees C.
  • Press your fingers into the dough to create dimples.
  • Add extra virgin olive oil, garlic, rosemary, basil, salt, and pepper for toppings. Spread it evenly all throughout the surface.
  • Bake until golden brown.
