Focaccia bread is a type of bread that looks so pretty and is incredibly versatile, given the wide amount of options that you can use for its toppings. It’s relatively easy to make, and your whole kitchen will smell so yummy as it bakes! You can pair it with pasta, meat, cheese, or even eat it on its own!

Ingredients
  

Focaccia Bread Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water microwaved around 23 seconds
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Instant yeast or active dry yeast
  • 1/4 Cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour or bread flour
  • 5 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Mix the water, granulated sugar, yeast, extra virgin olive oil, salt, and flour together in a bowl to form the dough. Knead the dough.
  • In a separate bowl greased with oil, place the dough and set it aside to rise. This will take about 2 1/2 hours.
  • Once dough is ready, you may transfer and flatten it out onto a baking pan. Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for 3 hours.
  • After 3 hours, preheat oven to 450 degrees F or 230 degrees C.
  • Press your fingers into the dough to create dimples.
  • Add extra virgin olive oil, garlic, rosemary, basil, salt, and pepper for toppings. Spread it evenly all throughout the surface.
  • Bake until golden brown.
