Ingredients
Fried Chicken Drumsticks Ingredients
- 1 Cup tomato ketchup
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
- 8 chicken drumsticks
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt divided
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper divided
- 1 1/2 cups Flour
- 1 Cup cornflakes crushed in a food processor
- 2 medium eggs
- 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
Instructions
- Make the hot ketchup: Mix all ingredients in a small bowl. Cover and chill until ready to use. (You can make this ahead of time; mixture lasts up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.)
- Combine chicken, ¼ teaspoon salt, and ¼ teaspoon pepper in a medium bowl. Marinate, covered, in the refrigerator for 20 minutes or up to overnight.
- Place all-purpose flour and crushed cornflakes on two separate plates. Season flour with the rest of the salt and pepper. Break eggs into a bowl and whisk until yolks and whites are completely combined.
- Coat each drumstick in seasoned flour, dip in egg, then coat with cornflakes.
- Pour oil into a nonstick frying pan over medium heat until it comes 2 inches up the sides of the pan. When oil is hot, fry drumsticks until golden brown, about 10 to 12 minutes (if chicken is at room temperature) or 15 to 18 minutes (if from the refrigerator). Serve immediately with hot ketchup.
