Ingredients
Fried Mozzarella Sandwich
- 1 Pack Italiano Mozzarella Block
- 10 slices whole-wheat bread toasted lightly
- 1 Cup milk
- 4 Egg slightly beaten
- 1 Pack unsalted butter
- bamboo skewers
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves Garlic minced
- 8 anchovy fillets chopped coarsely
- 3 tablespoons capers
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/3 white wine
- 2 tablespoons Italian parsley
Instructions
- Layer the mozzarella cheese in the whole wheat bread to make a sandwich. Trim the sides and cut into desired shape.
- Mix the milk and egg in a bowl then dip bread slices and fry lightly in a pan with melted butter. Stick bamboo skewers into the sandwich.
- To make the sauce, sauté the garlic in olive oil until lightly brown. Add the rest of the ingredients except the parsley.
- Simmer for 5 minutes then add the parsley.
- Spoon sauce over sandwiches or use as dip.
