Ingredients
Fried Mozzarella
- 12 slices mozzarella cheese cut into 1-inch thick and 4-inch long strips
- 1 1/2 cups Japanese breadcrumbs (Panko)
- 3 Egg beaten
- 1 1/2 Cup all-purpose flour
- 6 tablespoons Japanese mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon deli mustard
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon fresh basil leaves chopped
- Salt to taste
- 6 tablespoons Japanese mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon cilantro (wansoy) chopped
- 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- One by one, dredge the mozzarella cheese in flour, then dip into the egg. Do this twice. (FYI, double coating the cheese prevents it from oozing out of its breadcrumb casing.) Then roll in breadcrumbs.
- Put inside the fridge for a couple of minutes to set.
- Fry mozzarella cheese until golden.
- Make the sauces: In a bowl, just mix everything and set aside. Repeat with the cilantro lemon mayonnaise.
