Jam Biscuit Sandwiches

Boil baking soda, sugar, and milk until sugar is fully dissolved. Cool to room temperature.

Add butter, vanilla, and salt to the flour; mix.

Pour in the milk mixture; mix until the dough comes together.

Roll out dough to about 1/8-inch-thick.

Cut out biscuit shapes with a round cookie cutter.

Remove excess dough.

Prick cookies with a fork.

Bake at 325ºF until biscuits are golden, about 12 to 15 minutes; cool.

Spread jam in between two biscuits.
