Here's an easy homemade pizza with a Korean twist!
1 6-inch pizza dough
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium red onion, sliced
1 teaspoon sugar
1 cup kimchi, chopped
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 cup mozarella cheese, grated
1 cup bacon bits, chopped
5 tablespoons tomato sauce
1 tablespoon dried basil leaves
kewpie mayo, for garnish (optional)
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F/180 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, in a frying pan over medium high heat, sauté sliced red onions. Add 1 teaspooon sugar and cook until it caramelizes.
Add chopped kimchi and sauté for 5 minutes more. Turn off the heat and add sesame oil then mix.
Using a spatula or the back of your spoon, spread the tomato sauce over the pizza dough, leaving at least half an inch off the edge. Spread grated cheese over the dough. Add the sautéed kimchi and onions, then top with bacon bits. Sprinkle with more cheese.
Bake pizza for 12 to 16 minutes. Serve warm and garnish with Kewpie mayonnaise and dried basil leaves.
