Ingredients
Korean Fried Chicken Ingredients
- 1/4 Cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
- 1 tablespoon gochujang (hot pepper paste)
- 1/3 Cup mirin or soju
- 3 cloves Garlic chopped finely
- 2 teaspoons fresh ginger grated
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- vegetable oil to deep-fry
- 1 1/2 kilos chicken drumsticks
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 2 tablespoons Potato starch
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds toasted
Instructions
- Combine brown sugar, soy sauce, gochujang, soju, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Simmer until thick, about 5 to 10 minutes. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Season chicken with salt then toss in potato starch. Deep-fry until golden, 12 to 15 minutes. Drain on a wire rack.
- Toss chicken in prepared sauce. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
