Mussels in Garlic Cream Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Garlic chopped
  • 2 tablespoons white onions chopped
  • 1/4 Cup Leeks sliced
  • 1.2 kilos mussels cleaned and beards removed
  • 1/4 Cup white wine Optional
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • parsley Chopped, for garnish
  • crusty bread toasted, to serve


  • Heat olive oil and butter in a pot over medium-high heat. Sauté garlic, onions, leeks, and mussels for 1 minute.
  • Pour in wine and simmer for 2 minutes. Add cream and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes or until mussels open and are cooked. Discard mussels that remain closed.
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper. Garnish with parsley. Serve hot with bread on the side.
