Pasta in Shrimp Pink Sauce Recipe
What makes the sauce "pink"?
You may have heard of "pink sauce" or "rose sauce" and wondered "What makes it pink?" Would you believe it's the shrimp? Shrimp starts off a translucent shade of gray-black but once it's cooked, the pigments react to heat and the shrimp turns pink or in some cases, pink-orange. It's the same pigments in salmon.
Try the recipe and remember: Just before serving this pasta dish, add the noodles to the sauce, toss, then serve immediately. (Italians never present pasta dishes with noodles separate from the sauce.)
