Pork Pot Roast Ingredients

  • 1 kilo pork pigue or whole skinless pork rump (pigue) or shoulder (kasim)
  • Salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 large white onion chopped
  • 3 stalks celery chopped
  • 1 70-gram pack cream of mushroom soup powdered, mixed with water to make 1 liter
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 medium carrots peeled and cut into medium chunks
  • 3 medium Potatoes peeled and cut into large chunks
  • 200 Grams green beans trimmed
  • Soy Sauce to taste
  • 1 sprig rosemary or thyme


  • Season pork with salt and pepper. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add pork and sear until light brown on all sides. Set aside.
  • In the same pot, sauté onions and celery until soft. Return pork to the pot. Add mushroom soup and bay leaves. Increase heat to high and bring to a boil. Lower heat to medium and simmer. Cover and cook pork until soft, about 1 to 2 hours.
  • Add carrots and potatoes. Lower heat and cook for 30 more minutes.
  • Once vegetables are tender, add beans and cook until soft, about 5 to 10 minutes. Season sauce with salt, pepper, and soy sauce. If using rosemary and thyme, remove leaves from stems then add leaves to the pot. Remove pot from heat.
  • To serve, slice meat into rough chunks. Serve with sauce and vegetables.
