Ingredients
  

Queso de Bola Breadsticks

  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 Cup water divided
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 piece Egg mixed with 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
  • 1 Cup queso de bola

Instructions
 

  • Stir yeast and sugar into 1/2 cup water. Set aside until it foams.
  • Combine salt and fl our in a bowl. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix with a wooden spoon until combined, then add remaining water. Mix unti
  • Knead dough on a flat surface until elastic, about 5 minutes. Roll into a ball and place in a greased bowl. Cover with plastic wrap or a towel. Let rest for 10 minutes.
     
  • Knead dough again for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Roll out dough into a rectangle, until about 1/4-inch-thick. You can make it about 1 foot long or as long as your baking sheet can hold.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Brush dough with egg wash. Sprinkle black sesame seeds or grated queso de bola on top. Slice into thin sticks, about 1/4-inch-wide. Transfer sticks to the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown and crisp. Store in an airtight container. If you want to make the breadsticks crispy again, bake at 350°F for about 5 minutes.
