Sausage Basil Quiche Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour plus extra for kneading
- 1/2 Cup potato chips crushed
- 1/4 Cup olive oil
- 1/2 Cup ice water
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1/2 Cup ice water
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 2 Italian sausages chopped
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 Cup fresh milk
- 1/2 Cup cheddar cheese grated
- 2 tablespoons basil leaves torn
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350?F.
- Mix flour and potato chips in a bowl. Add olive oil and ice water. Using a fork, stir mixture until a dough forms. Dump onto a floured surface. Use your hands to gently knead dough until it is no longer sticky and has formed a solid mass.
- Roll dough about 1/8 inch thin using a rolling pin. Transfer to a 9-inch tart pan, and cut off any excess. Use excess dough to patch up any holes. Prick surface with a fork, and bake in the preheated oven, about 12 minutes. Remove from the oven, and set aside to cool slightly.
- Meanwhile, heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Sauté sausages. Layer evenly on pie crust.
- Beat eggs with milk and cheese. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Pour into crust. Sprinkle with basil leaves. Bake until set. Slice, and serve. Recipe originally published in the June 2016 issue of Good Housekeeping Philippines.
