Short Ribs with Coffee Rub Recipe

Make the coffee rub: Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir well. Set aside in an airtight jar or container.

Place oil in a small bowl.   Add 3 tablespoons coffee rub and stir.

Pour coffee rub mixture into a baking dish. Add short ribs, one piece at a time, rubbing both sides well with the mixture. Marinate, covered, for 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.

Heat oil in a skillet or grill pan over high heat. Sear short ribs in batches. Do not overcrowd pan. Sear on 1 side for 1 minute then turn over and cook for another 30 seconds. Transfer to a plate and cover with foil until all pieces are cooked. Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with sesame seeds, green onions, and chilies, if desired.
