Ingredients
Sigarilyas Tempura Ingredients
- 1 Cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 Cup cornstarch
- Pepper
- 1 Table Spoon Garlic powder
- 1 can beer
- 2 pieces Egg whites only
- 1/2 kilo winged beans (sigarilyas) blanched
- Oil for deep-frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together beer and egg whites.
- Pour flour mixture into the beer mixture. Mix until you get a thin, pancake batter-like consistency.
- Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pot or frying pan. Dip each piece of blanched sigarilyas into the beer batter, then deep-fry until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.Â
- Make wasabi mayo: Mix the following ingredients until well combined: 1 cup mayonnaise, 1 1?2 teaspoons wasabi powder, pinch of white pepper, and pinch of salt.
