Ingredients
Smoked Bacon and Macaroni Casserole
- 500 Grams macaroni noodles
- 1/4 kilo bacon use honeycured bacon
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 2 big white onion sliced into rings
- 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
- 1 teaspoon Pepper
- Salt
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 small box cheddar cheese
- 1/4 Cup parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook macaroni pasta according to package directions.
- Fry bacon in its own fat until crisp. Drain on paper towels, then crumble. Sauté onion rings in oil. Set both aside.
- In a bowl, mix cooked macaroni, basil, pepper, salt, cream of mushroom, crumbled bacon, and half of the cooked onion rings. Add grated cheese (leave some for topping). Transfer mixture to a buttered casserole.
- Bake, covered, at 350ºF for 10 minutes.
- Remove from the oven. Top with the rest of the onion rings, cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Bake again for a couple of minutes, uncovered, until cheeses melt.
