Speedy French Toast
- 2 pieces bread slices
- 1/2 Table Spoon Low-fat Butter softened
- maple syrup
- Powdered SUgar (Optional)
- fruits (slices), (Optional)
Instructions
- Toast two bread slices until browned and crisp.
- Slather 1/2 tablespoon softened low-fat butter on each side. Pour maple syrup or honey on top.
- When you do have time to make the real thing, try these variations:
- Sprinkle powdered sugar over slices of French toast and serve with slices of your favorite fruits.
- Fill two slices of French toast with 2 to 3 crisp bacon slices and 1 scrambled egg, and pour syrup all over.
- Slice French toast into “sticks.” Serve with jam or honey-yogurt dressing on the side for dipping. (To make honey-yogurt dip: Mix plain yogurt with honey; sweeten as desired.
- Sandwich a slice of dark chocolate between 2 slices of French toast and toast in a panini press.
