Steak with Potatoes Ingredients
- 20 baby potatoes sliced in half
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- 1/3 Cup sour cream
- 3 tablespoons bacon use bacon bits
- 2 tablespoons green onion chopped
- 1 1 1/2-inch thick porterhouse steak about 750 grams
- Pepper to season
- vegetable oil for frying
- 1 tablespoon Butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F.
- Make the roasted marble potatoes: Boil potatoes in boiling salted water until tender, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain well. Place in an ovenproof dish and dot with butter.
- Roast potatoes in the preheated oven or in a turbo broiler set at 300°F for 15 minutes or until edges are golden. Set aside and keep warm. Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Pat steak dry and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides. Heat a cast iron pan or heavy-bottomed pan over high heat until smoking. Add oil. Sear steak on one side for 1 minute. Turn steak over and cook the other side for 1 minute.
- Place steak on a chopping board and slice the meat away from the bone. Slice both sections into 1-inch pieces.
- Arrange bone and steak slices in an ovenproof dish. Dot steak with butter.
- Cook steak in the preheated oven or in a turbo broiler set at 400°F for 4 to 6 minutes for medium doneness. Remove from oven or broiler. Let rest for 5 minutes.
- Place potatoes in a serving bowl. Drizzle with sour cream, and top with bacon bits and green onions. Arrange steak on a plate and serve with potatoes.
