Steamed Sticky Rice Wrapped in Pork Recipe

Prepare the pork belly: Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Marinate pork for an hour in the refrigerator. Line a baking dish with a 6x4-inch banana leaf. Arrange marinated pork slices on the banana leaf in an overlapping manner; set aside. Reserve the marinade.

Prepare the rice: Drain the rice and mushrooms. Cut mushrooms into strips.

Heat oil in a small frying pan. Sauté onions and garlic until fragrant. Add mushrooms, black beans, dried shrimp, and chorizo. Cook until mushrooms are tender and chorizo has rendered its fat.

Add chorizo mixture and reserved pork marinade to the rice. Season with a bit of salt and pepper.

Arrange rice on the prepared baking dish and cover with the loose ends of the pork. Wrap with banana leaves and secure with twine.

Steam for 2 hours. Let cool for a few minutes and transfer to a serving platter. Slice and serve hot.
