Ingredients
  

Strawberry Crumble Bars

  • 1 1/4 cups rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 cup1 Butter cubed
  • 1/2 Cup sugar
  • 1/2 Cup brown sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1(21-ounce) can strawberry filling
  • 1/2 Cup almonds sliced

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease the sides of an 8x12-inch baking pan.
  • Combine oats, flour, and baking soda in a bowl; set aside.
  • In another bowl, place butter and sugars and mix until softened.
  • Add egg, then the vanilla and almond extracts.
  • Add the dry ingredients and mix until it forms a soft dough.
  • Reserve a handful of the dough for the topping. Put the remaining dough in the prepared pan and spread dough to fill the whole bottom. Pat dough evenly. Sprinkle a little flour over the dough if it gets too sticky.
  • Pour the strawberry filling over the dough.
  • Sprinkle pieces of the remaining dough over the strawberry filling. Sprinkle sliced almonds over the mixture.
  • Bake for 22 to 25 minutes or until top is golden; let cool before slicing into 2x2-inch squares.
