These appetizers will liven up your party spread.
12 pieces fresh white button mushrooms
1 can liver spread
1 table spoon red onion, finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon oregano leaves
Preheat oven to 350?F.
Break the stems off each mushroom and set cap aside. Finely chop stems and mix with the liver pâté, red onion, and crushed oregano in a small bowl. Thin down with a little water to a consistency fit for spreading, if necessary. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste.
Spoon about a teaspoonful into each mushroom cap. Place on a baking sheet and bake until mushrooms have softened. Remove from oven and top each pâté-filled mushroom cap with Parmesan shavings. Serve immediately.
