Make your own tomato sauce-it's so easy to make!
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, peeled and smashed slightly but left whole
1 small white onion, chopped
1 (800-gram) can tomatoes, chopped or crushed
300 grams parmesan cheese, cooked
Heat the oil in a pan or pot over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add garlic and onions. Saute until onions are soft and translucent and the garlic is fragrant.
Add tomatoes, salt, and pepper; give it a good stir. Let this cook, gently bubbling, until thick and pulpy. Stir the mixture occasionaly. This should take around 30 minutes.
Check and adjust seasoning if needed. Take out the garlic and discard (or spread on toast!). Serve with pasta and sprinkle cheese on top.
