A chicken potato salad is a classic side dish. This hearty cold salad is just as much a staple dish of many picnic and potluck menus as it is on fiesta buffet tables. What makes the potato salad so well-loved? It must be because of our love affair with potatoes! 

Just think about how many kinds of food we love that include or are made with potato in the recipe? From chips and fries to menudo, caldereta, and even adobo made extra hearty when potatoes are added to the mix! 

While potatoes are normally not the star of the main dish, it's the main ingredient in this case. This potato salad remains classic with the sweetened dressing courtesy of the pineapples and pickle relish, the sharp hit of onions, and the crunch of the carrots added to the mayo base. What makes this unique is that instead of shredded chicken or even chicken chunks, no-cook canned tuna is used to make this meaty without adding extra work to make it. 


You get hearty potatoes, tender carrots, sweet-sour pineapples, and meaty tuna chunks in every spoonful of this potato salad, and it's even easier to make than the chicken version.
