Add a refreshing zing to fish by marinating it in this lemon-mint mixture. Aside from tuna, this marinade works just as well with salmon, blue marlin, and mackerel. You can also use this marinade for fish, shrimp, chicken, or pork.

Tuna Steaks Ingredients

  • 3/4 Cup fresh mint finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest grated
  • 4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried chili flakes
  • 6 cloves Garlic minced
  • 5 pieces (about 500 grams) fresh tuna steaks sliced into 1/2-inch-thick pieces
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • Salad greens to serve

Instructions
 

  • Make the lemon-mint marinade: Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  • Arrange tuna steaks on a shallow tray. Pour the lemon-mint marinade over, making sure to coat all sides of the tuna. Cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours.
  • Heat grill over medium-high heat. Drizzle with olive oil. Lay tuna on the grill and cook each piece until medium-rare, about 4 to 5 minutes per side.
  • Serve grilled tuna steaks with salad greens and lemon wedges on the side.
