Lechon Fans, Get Ready! Zubuchon Will Open its Doors on Sunday, February 26

The first Manila branch is located at Talisay Street, Makati.

Zubuchon will officially open its first Manila branch on February 26, Sunday. Zubuchon, which has 8 branches in Cebu, serves one of Cebu’s most popular lechon, tagged by no less than TV host, author, and legendary chef Anthony Bourdain as “the best pig ever.”

According to owner Joel Binamira, the menu will be similar to that of the Cebu branches with a few vegetable, rice and beef dishes specific to the Manila branch.

They will be roasting lechon onsite. Says Binamira, “We have a roasting facility onsite that can roast up to 24 lechons over coals, just like we do in Cebu.  We also continue to source all our pigs from Cebu and Negros and we “import” the pigs to Manila, to get our lechons as close to the original as possible.”

Binamira told Yummy.ph, “It took nearly 6 years since we opened our restaurants in Cebu to finally make it to Manila.  We weren’t in a hurry, and wanted to try and maintain quality levels.  Hence, all stores are still company-owned and we have no franchisees.  It was a challenge to find the ideal location in Manila, and had been looking for nearly a year before we found our current location.”

Lechon fans, see you there?

Zubuchon is located at 148 Talisay Street near Yakal Street, Barangay San Antonio, Makati.
