Microwave Molten Chocolate Cake Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 1 Pack brownie mix (we used a 230-gram oven toaster brownie mix)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 2 large eggs use yolks only
  • 1 Cup milk
  • 1/3 Cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, melt butter. Add brownie mix, egg, and milk. Use a fork to mix ingredients together. Divide mixture evenly between 2 mugs.
  • Microwave on high setting, 30 seconds to 1 minute (depending on your microwave), only until the cake has begun to rise. Middle of cake will be undone but will be hot. Remove from oven. Serve in mugs with vanilla sauce.
  • Do-Ahead Tip: To make the vanilla sauce, in a medium saucepan, whiskegg yolks, milk, and sugar. Place overmedium heat, whisking until justabout to simmer (small bubbles will appear at the milk’s edges). Reduceheat to low and continue cookinguntil thickened, whisking continuouslyto prevent yolks from cooking. Stir in vanilla extract. Pour over a strainer and into a small container. Cool, and chill until ready to serve. Recipe originally published in the May 2015 issue of Good Housekeeping Philippines.
