Banana Turon in Rum Recipe

Make your turon extra special with this recipe.

Turon is a super easy recipe to make! You coat saba bananas in brown sugar, roll in lumpia wrappers, and then fry until golden brown and delicious. To amp up the caramelized sugar, melt more sugar and toss the cooked turon rolls back in the pan for another sticky sweet coating that’s irresistible!

It’s easy to make it more delicious! Some sneak in some jackfruit or langka slivers with the bananas for another hit of sweetness. However, we think that’s not enough. We jack up this recipe even further with the addition of some rum. Don’t worry about the alcohol! It’s burned off by the heat and all you’re left with is its wonderful flavor. To top it off, we made a sweet, powdery, and creamy sprinkle to make it even more decadent.

This is one banana turon you’ll find hard to resist!
