Can you guess which appliances they use a lot?

Cooks and bakers whose job revolves around food are the best people to ask when it comes to kitchen appliances. They work with these machines on a daily basis and it’s for more than just preparing their daily meals.

What are the kitchen appliances that cooks and bakers love using the most? While kitchen appliances make cooking and baking easier, it’s also about how useful, how durable, and how versatile it can become in your kitchen life.

1 KitchenAid Stand Mixer

An electric hand mixer is the affordable kitchen appliance upgrade for budding new bakers but when it comes to sheer efficiency, the ultimate goal is the stand mixer. Not only can you beat butter and eggs, whip cream, and even knead bread with minimum effort, but it can also do it while you do other tasks.

Despite its price, the KitchenAid stand mixer is probably the most popular and the aspirational kitchen appliance goal for many new bakers. Almost all the bakers said this is the tool that has become indispensable in their baking. “I don’t remember how I managed to bake before I got a KitchenAid, unimaginable! Cuts the work in half and produces really fine results,” says Wado Siman, kitchen consultant and owner of Wadoughs.

Sharlene Tan, professional food stylist and former Yummy magazine editor, says it’s the appliance she relies on the most, especially for big or multiple batches when she’s preparing for shoots or testing recipes. “It just makes life easier and allows me to multitask without giving my arms a painful workout. If I could only have space for more than one Kitchen Aid, I would actually get two so I can do multiple things at the same time without having to wait for the other to finish.”

Retired professional baker and full-time mom Chef Joan Jean F. Baldoza, affirms the durability of her KitchenAid mixer. “Although not as durable as it was way back 20 years ago, it still is heavy-duty. I can use it for just about any application. It makes my life a lot easier! Plus, the possibility of putting attachments (such as a pasta maker, meat grinder, and even an ice cream maker) makes it very versatile.”

The KitchenAid 5-quart stand mixer (P32,608) and Philips stand mixer (P4,205) is available via the Abenson website.

2 Xiaomi 32L Oven

Sometimes, it’s a small oven, not the big one, that you really need. For Aldwin Aspillera, baker, owner of Crust & Crumb, and photographer, his new Xiaomi 32L convection oven that can fit on the countertop is his current personal favorite kitchen appliance.

“I already have a large built-in oven and a huge bakery oven, but there are days when I just want to bake a small pan of brownies or probably roast some chicken and vegetables for my baby’s food. I find it too cumbersome, and not to mention magastos, to fire up the bigger ovens. This smaller oven makes it so much more convenient to do smaller batches. Plus, it helps that it’s pretty cheap.”

3 Kitchen Weighing Scale

Bakers will attest just how being precise in measuring your ingredients can result in successful cakes and pastries. A digital kitchen scale is responsible for helping you be accurate to the gram, and it’s not the only kitchen gadget that you might want to invest in to help you be a better baker.

For prop stylist Trinka Gonzales (you can also find her baking tips on BakeNice on Instagram)the kitchen appliances she loves are not just her oven, but it’s also her tools. She says, “I love precision tools! The kitchen scale, instant-read thermometer, my oven. Baking is exact, and these tools help me bake better.”
