K-BBQ Fans, Baked Samgyup Exists And We Know Where You Can Get It

Take a break from sushi bake!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard of the now-ubiquitous sushi bake, a dish that rose to popularity amid quarantine in Metro Manila. Basically a deconstructed sushi, it’s is composed of slices of sushi (whether salmon, tuna, kani, or whatever you can think of) coated in a spicy, tangy sauce atop a bed of Japanese rice, which is then baked in the oven. It’s eaten by scooping out a portion of the dish and wrapping it in a small nori sheet like a mini taco. Another variation of the meal that has come about recently is the West Asia-inspired Shawarma Bake as well the SPAM Bake. Our latest find is a version of the dish that’s perfect for fans of Korean cuisine: Say hello to Banche BakesBaked Samgyup!

The dish features grilled bulgogi beef and pork strips baked in melted cheese on a bed of rice. You can get a tray good for three people for P400. If you want to take the dish to the next level, you can opt to get it with kimchi rice (P500) in place of plain rice. And if you really want to turn up the heat, you can also get the beef and pork in a spicy marinade.
