These Bottled Pasta Sauces Can Double As Dips or Spreads, Too

Grab a bottle or two for your next merienda!

All you need is a little hit of creativity to make some of the most common grocery finds come to life. Take, for example, this week’s Yummy.ph grocery find: Dona Elena’s bottled pesto sauces. Instead of the usual green basil pesto, they hold flavors like Ricotta and Smoked Provolone Cheese Pesto Sauce and Red Pesto Sauce, made with sun-dried tomatoes.

The quick way to use them is to toss spoonfuls into hot, freshly cooked pasta noodles. However, you can use these sauces for several types of dishes. Serve them as a spread for toasted bread by slowly mixing in a few teaspoons of olive oil into the Ricotta and Smoked Provolone Cheese pesto, or mix the Red Pesto into cream cheese to make a dip for crackers. Don’t you love versatile grocery items?

Dona Elena’s bottled pesto sauces are available in major grocery stores in Metro Manila.
